Who We Work With
Cornwall Collective works with independent makers, studios, and small brands who create original products with a genuine connection to Cornwall.
We are a curated retailer, not an open marketplace. That means we work selectively with suppliers whose products, practices, and values align with what Cornwall Collective represents.
The Types of Suppliers We Partner With
We typically work with:
-
Independent makers and artisans
-
Small studios and workshops
-
Design-led brands and micro-brands
-
Small producers creating original or regionally specific goods
Some of the people we work with make their products entirely by hand. Others work in small studios or use trusted production partners to manufacture their own designs. Both approaches are welcome where the work is original and carefully produced.
A Genuine Connection to Cornwall
Every supplier we work with must have a meaningful connection to Cornwall.
This may be through:
-
Being based in Cornwall
-
Designing or making products in Cornwall
-
Having a clear creative or cultural link to the region
Using Cornwall imagery or names alone is not enough. We look for real involvement, not surface-level branding.
What We Look For
When selecting suppliers, we prioritise:
-
Original design and clear authorship
-
Small-scale or independent production
-
Quality materials and thoughtful making
-
Products not widely available on mass marketplaces
-
A clear fit with the Cornwall Collective ethos
We curate deliberately, choosing quality and integrity over volume.
What We Don’t Work With
To protect the integrity of the collection, we do not work with:
-
Generic wholesale or catalogue-based products
-
Dropshippers or arbitrage sellers
-
Mass-produced goods with no creative input
-
Products widely available on large online marketplaces
-
Cornwall-branded items with no genuine local connection
How the Relationship Works
Cornwall Collective acts as the retailer of record.
We manage the shop, checkout, customer communication, and overall experience. Orders may be fulfilled directly by suppliers under agreed terms, allowing them to focus on making while we focus on curation and retail.
We work collaboratively and transparently, with clear expectations on quality, fulfilment, and presentation.
A Selective but Supportive Approach
We welcome both established businesses and emerging suppliers. Being small or early-stage is not a barrier if the work is right.
At the same time, we are selective by design. Not every application will be a fit, and we make decisions based on the needs of the collection as a whole.
